Applesauce

Tis the Season....

Thanks to the lovely Apple Lady for letting us come harvest our apples from her house for yet another year.  She even lent us that amazing strainer that is pictured with each of the kids. It saved me easily an hour, if not more, of cutting, peeling, and de-seeding the apples.

I made applesauce this year too! Last year I didn't get a chance. We had to prune back our tree so severely because the branches were all going the wrong way. This year though we had a bumper crop.

Side note, if you do anything with apples, you should absolutely invest in a peeler/corer/slicer. Wonderful invention. You slide the apples on the prongs, turn the handle and voila! The apple is peeled, cored and sliced in less than ten seconds. I was able to do about 30gal of apples in 2 hrs. Williams-Sonoma has a great one that suction cups to your counter for $28. I loved having it this year!
