Dear grocery store costumers in Aisle 7, In case you were wondering, yes, I did see all 10 of you today, when you stopped to glare at me for disciplining my children. Just wanted to make sure you were aware your increase in frown lines wasn't in vain. Thank you for taking an interest in how I raise my children. I hope when you go home tonight and tell your spouses about the 'woman at the store with WAY too many kids, that were out of control,' you won't forget any of the thrilling details. Signs it would have been better to just stay in bed...

Your baby wakes you up every hour, on the hour, ALL night long... You get out of the shower and find your oldest two (not even the younger two) kids cutting up all their baby pictures into ribbons with a pair of scissors; They're the scissors you got out of bed to hide, the night before. You child spills his cup 15, yes count them 15 times in four hours. The comment, "lets go for a nature walk and collect leaves," is responded to with, "that's stupid!" The red things being thrown at the side of your house are your beautiful, perfectly ripe tomatoes that were supposed to be part of supper... Little hands have stolen and eaten two of the boxes of fruit snacks and 8 of the 11 bananas you bought grocery shopping the night before... You fall asleep nursing your baby, and no one (even though they know it's time) bothers waking you up to get them to karate on time.... and the most tell tale sign that it would have been a better idea to just stay in bed is: You...

Kate's Best Bites: The Week of Jan 14th

Hi Best Biters! I know I am a few days behind this week, so hopefully you will all forgive me. This week we will only be featuring my supper menu, as my kids are eating almost the exact same things this week that they did last week. (Truthfully, they eat almost the same lunches every week, but they like them, so why chance what works, right!?) So here we go! Tuesday: Pork with Mustard Lime Vinaigrette, Steamed broccoli, gluten free rolls, and a fruit salad. Wednesday: Spinach and Gruyere Quiche Thursday: Ratatouille and roasted red potatoes Friday: Pizza Night Saturday: Home made Mac and Cheese (and this is amazing!) Sunday: Crock Pot Indian Chickpea Curry Prep Day: If you notice I am doing a lot of, 'day of' cooking this week, because that is what I was in the mood for, but there are some quick things you can do on your prep day to make it go faster.
