Some of you may remember that last year I participated in the first annual Corvallis Polar Plunge. It was a fundraiser for the Oregon Special Olympics, and a really great cause. This year I signed up again, and was very delighted to have a side kick (although from the pictures and the star treatment he got from people while there, I think I was the sidekick).
FP was the one who suggested we be the Mario Brothers, and the idea worked out great considering the size difference.
Before the plunge so many people stopped to take his picture.
Believe it or not, after the plunge he was all smiles too.
FP was far and away the youngest plunger there. He didn't shy away in the slightest though and went in all the way up to his neck, to the point where I had to pick him up and kind of carry him back to where he could get his footing better.
I am so touched and thankful to the many people who donated to our little team, and am delighted to know that as of 10:30 this morning they had counted something like $40k from Corvallis alone (one of five or so cities hosting a plunge).
Stay tuned in for next year, when Sheepie says he wants to join in the fun!
